Beta Readers

Beta reading is when I send early copies of a book to a group of readers in order to gain feedback on the story/characters/series progression. Continuity is also important. Beta reading sessions pop up relatively frequently, so if you’re interested and can provide detailed feedback, then feel free to email me.

  1. Is just like to leave a quick comment I’ve just finished reading your books about Ava and have to say I love them am a big reader and I’ve read all the trueblood, twilight sage and vampire diaries and lots more and at first thought your books would be a spin of of at least one of them however I like how you have put your own twist in the supernatural characters, really great books I red all 3 in two day and can’t wait to read more of your work.

I’ve just finished your books about Ava, and I really enjoyed them. However, it bothers me that I payed for the last two when I felt like there were so many gramatical errors present. I feel like if you’re going to sell your work it should be more polished. Besides that, I appreciate your work.

    • Hi Savanah, thanks for reading the books so far. I have to admit I am surprised you found many grammatical errors. The books were read and edited by a number of people before I paid for editing and proofreading, and although I know a mistake will always get through, I expected the books to be very clean. It’s not your job (of course), but if you found the time to give an example, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks again for your comment, I appreciate the feedback. 🙂

    • Hey, Paul. Taken should be available around July/August. I took a break from Ava after the third book to work on a different series, but books 4 and 5 should both get their release in the second half of the year. 🙂

  6. I’m with Emma and Paul. I LOVED the Ava Delaney series! I read them in just a few days. I can’t wait to see what happens with Ava, Peter, and Carl in the next two books. And I’m also very interested to see what happens with Gabe, Eddie, Esther, the twins, and Peter’s son. I really hope we find out what happens to Peter’s son. ( I have a theory) Your characters are just so well developed. The reader can easily imagine them as real people/supernatural beings.

P.S I didn’t find any glaringly noticeable errors in your books. The only thing that visually bothered me was the word ‘pyjamas’, and it wasn’t a spelling error, as I understand it. Turns out we just spell ‘pajamas’ differently in different countries. Who the feck cares? (We say that differently too!)

    • Thanks, Jessica!

Oooh, I love the theories. A lot of people seem to have a theory on Emmett, so I’m looking forward to the release of Taken. 😉

LOL @ pyjamas vs. pajamas. Maybe I should call them pjs?

      And feck yeah! 😀

I couldn’t have said it better myself, LMAO! I was in journalism, English, Lit, and Editing is a big part of my life. I used to edit love letters from boys! Ahhhhh, ignorance is bliss…

    • Not too long now, Liz. I don’t have an exact date, I’m afraid, but if you sign up for the newsletter (top right of the page) then you’ll receive an email as soon as it is released if that’s any use to you. 🙂

Really loved all three books. I would really love to read the fourth one as a beta reader if you would allow me. Your writing has a great rythm to it . I had to go from book to book because they are very engaging and detailed plus i had to know what happened. Thank you for writing them. I am your newest fan.

  9. I’m currently ploughing through all your books, finished all the Cursed series up to date, One Night With The Fae and the first two Ava Delaney books, I love the way you write!

So, just wondering, I presume you have to be a certain age to be a beta reader? 🙂

    • It depends on the book, I suppose. I don’t generally ask people what age they are though. I think you would need to ask permission from your parents/guardian first because you are quite young, and they might not like you exchanging emails with a strange adult. 🙂

You’re not strange! Awesome is a better word 😀

  15. I LOVE the Ava Delaney series so much it’s sad:) I discovered the first one on my Kindle a little bit ago, and recently I discovered the second…it only took me three days in between meals and other stuff, to finish it and after I did I looked for the third and literally shook and squealed with excitement! Long story short I JUST finished the forth and I am in love. With Ava, Peter, Emmett, Carl, Esther…EVERYONE!!!;) I find myself relating to a lot of her thoughts, hahaha. Thank you so much for giving me a favorite book series and an addiction!!! I’ve been spreading the word and I CANNOT wait for your future Ava Delaney books!!
P.S My family are annoyed with me because I’ve had my head in my Kindle and talk about them so much hahahahahaha
    Thank You!!!

  16. I love your books. They are all written beautifully and are original, which is saying something with all of the paranormal books that are out now. I especially fell on love with Adversity and the others in the series. Reading has been my passion ever since I was 12. I also love writing and dream of having a teen paranormal series out someday. (I am an english major with journalism as minor.)But if not I will be content to lose myself in the spectacular worlds you and other amazing authors create. Thank you for sharing your gift with the world. I also would like to inquire about the beta readers? I am very interested in participating.

    • Keep writing, Courtney. Only way to get anywhere. 🙂

Keep an eye on the blog for the next beta reading session, and we can talk then. Next one will likely be for the last book in the Cursed series.
